If you plan it right, you may be able to make it to Costa Rica and ring in the New Year the Pura Vida way. What are you waiting for, grab your bags and get on a plane!

Today marks the reflection of another year that has gone by. For many it is a chance think about what the last year has meant for them in terms of the goals that were set, what was achieved, what failed and of course resolutions for the next year. For me, life has changed for the better. After several years of the status quo, opportunities have turned in the right direction, part in part to social media and my commitment to CostaRicaCLOSEUP.com . I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and establish on-line friendships and business acquaintances. All positive energy from people from around the world.

I have also experienced sorrow, with the passing of an online friend who I had hoped to meet in the near future. It is strange how despite not meeting someone you develop affection and interest in that person through their comments, posts and online interaction. Today, I watch from afar, as a struggling spouse left behind deals with his loss and despite being thousands of miles away, I feel that I am right there trying to ease the sorrow.

What Resolutions? Pura Vida Only!

I don’t make resolutions as I don’t believe that making them on a specific day will force you to go through with them just because it’s New Year’s Eve. I believe that you can take some of the negative things in your life and look how you can change them without the hoopla of streamers, loud music and alcohol and of course the New Years Eve hats!

As 2011 draws to an end, my wish for all my friends and family is that we all have the gift of good health. It is often so overlooked in our wishes but it is ultimately the driving force for all that we want to achieve. All you have to do is look at one of the greatest losses of 2011, Steve Jobs. A man who changed the way we interact with technology, a man who was eulogized for his contribution to the world and a man who despite all his success and financial well being could not conquer his health issues. I believe that with good health all can be achieved.

For those celebrating in Costa Rica, you still have time to make tamales and clean the house, and await family and friends. Enjoy the festivities where ever you may be celebrating, be it at home, at a party or on the beach. Feliz Año Nuevo from my family to yours!
