Jet Blue Hosts A Party

Costa Rica Jet BlueEarlier this month, Jet Blue Airlines threw a party to celebrate something special. The party included two invitations, one for New York’s JFK airport, Terminal 5 where passengers indulged in some specially provided treats and then in Liberia, Costa Rica where passengers ended their trip some 6 hours later. The party was to celebrate Jet Blue’s new travel route, to Guanacaste, it’s second route to beautiful Costa Rica.

With the support of the Costa Rican minister of tourism, the flight was greeted in Costa Rica by dancers, music and fanfare. The route marks Jet Blue’s commitment to service its customers by providing the first non-stop route from New York’s JFK airport.  Offering some great initial prices, with introductory fares quoted from $119.00 (one way) if booked prior to November 30th of this year, Jet Blue has invested into travel to Costa Rica.

New Liberia Airport Bigger, Better

The route offers travellers with an opportunity to land closer to some of Costa Rica’s well known attractions. The new Daniel OduberQuiros International Airport in Liberia is perfectly situated to access Costa Rica’s Pacific coast and the Arenal Volcano region. Although not officially open, the airport is a massive 250,000 square feet, replacing its smaller out of date current airport. The $41 million project was brought to fruition by a group of US/Canadian/Costa Rican consortium which broke ground several months ago and has moved at lightning speed to complete the project.

The new terminal will provide Costa Rica with a 11% increase in traveller capabilities, accepting flights from US carriers as well as Canadian and European airlines. With such fanfare exhibited by Jet Blue one can only imagine the festivities that will accompany the opening of the airport upon its completion. For now if you are planning a trip to Costa Rica, take advantage of Jet Blue’s special as there are only a few days left before the special pricing is gone! In the meantime, pack your surfboard (surcharges are waived until December 17 on the airline) and experience the Costa Rica adventure!
