Costa Rica Richard BangsCosta Rica Adventure Writer Defines Pura Vida

Richard Bangs is considered to be the father of modern adventure travel and in one of his latest adventure travel series episodes, “Adventures with Purpose”  http://www.smarttravels.tv/adventure.htm Cost Rica adventure travel is featured.

With over 12 visits to Costa Rica, Mr. Bangs is considered to be an adopted Tico as he seeks out to find travel which makes and difference and which positively impacts the world. In his latest episode, “Quest for Pura Vida”, Mr. Bangs had the pleasure of spending almost 16 days in some of the best biologically diverse spots of Costa Rica including the Monteverde Cloud Forest in the northern region, the Osa Peninsula and the Tortuguero National Park on the Caribbean coast.

Capturing a variety of great stories, a large crew of photographers, guides and video producers accompanied Mr. Bangs on his recent trek through Costa Rica. Although a great deal of footage was left on the cutting floor, the final cut depicts an action packed adventure that could easily have been produced as a mini series. The episode’s U.S. premiere took place on Sept. 13 at The Explorers Club in New York City.

Costa Rica Commits To Biodiversity

The film’s introduction poses the question, “How did Costa Ricans fend off the miners, loggers, farmers, burners, developers and others who have felled and flattened rain forests around the world? How did they trick time?” and in his film, Bangs attempts to answer the quintessential Costa Rican catch phrase, attributing “Pura Vida” to a feeling.

In addition to the movies release, Mr. Bangs has written about his experience in Costa Rica for the Huffington Post and it can be read in its entiriety at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/richard-bangs/costa-rica-and-the-quest-_b_958616.html

In his article, Mr. Bangs refers to Costa Rica like “the monkey who locked up the zookeeper” which is in total contrast to many countries who practice the reverse in terms of their ecological initiatives. For Mr. Bangs, Costa Rica adventure remains true and where visitors can have their hearts race, encounter more animals species than in Canada or the U.S. and where “Pura Vida” is a splash of water from the white waters of the Pacuare River!
