Costa Rica Dance Festival Set For January 2012

Costa Rica Dance StudiosAs the dancing craze takes over North America with shows such as Dancing with the Stars, Latin Americans and the Latin culture are born with their dancing shoes on and this holds true for Costa Ricans whose culture is filled with music and traditional dancing.

The upcoming Dancesport Championships  http://web.me.com/crbdsi/CRBDSI/Home.html will be held in Costa Rica from January 27th to February 2, 2012 and will feature dancers competing in various categories. In addition to Ballroom dancing, categories will include Swing Criollo, Tango, Bolero and of course the pulse of Latindance and movement, the Salsa.

Couples as well as groups are encouraged to register for the event with contestants  judged on performance and presentation. The event, held at the Double Tree Cariari by Hilton in San Jose, Costa Rica is centrally located to provide contestants the opportunity to see the sights and sounds of Costa Rica after their competitions.

As organizers of the annual event, CostaRicaBallroom Dancesport-International hopes to attract dancers across all categories, making the event a showcase of some of the best talent available. As promoters of dance events as well and more importantly, teachers of dancing, Dancesport hopes the event will be a success. With past participation in events of dancers including the Cherub Popular Dancers of the University of Costa Rica and Ballroom dancers Evelyn Fds and Geovanny Mendez, the event hopes to attract such talent to ensure the bar will be set high for participants. With the event being held so close to San Antonio, participants will have the chance to see some of  Costa Rica in their off time. The San Antonio region is central to shops, restaurants and clubs. Dance Classes Put To The Test

Dancing has had a resurgence for countries such as North America who through shows such as Dancing with the Stars, which combines professional dancers with celebrities for the ultimate prize, the Mirrored Ball Trophy. In the case of the Dancesport competition, maybe there will be a small mirrored ball trophy…. will have to wait and see if all those Costa Rica dance classes pay off!
