Costa Rica Tarpon Season

Costa Rica Tarpon FishingWant to catch a big fish? Costa Rica’s Caribbean side is the place to be. September and October are great months for fishing tarpon and this year the Caribbean side of Costa Rica will not disappoint those who are interested in an experience of a lifetime.

As a catch and release country, the conditions for fishing tarpon are ideal at this time of year. With the flat ocean and sunny conditions, fishing conditions appear to be ideal. There is an abundance of tarpon between Barra del Colorado all the way to Rio Parismina.

In addition to the ideal conditions for tarpon, the Pacific side, specifically Guanacaste is still hot for fishing, which is common for this region and time of year. With fishing most favorable inshore, anglers are pleased with their catch of dorado and snapper.

There are many tour companies which  offer fishing expeditions and of  the most well known is the Crocodile Bay Resort located in the Osa Peninsula, in the southwest region of Costa Rica.
