Costa Rica Netflix Central

Costa Rica NetflixComing to Costa Rica theater, your home soon…. on September 12, 2011 is not a movie but a bunch of movies. The California-based video rental company NETFLIX  www.netflix.com will launch its services which includes movie and television streaming availability for Costa Ricans as part of their Latin American service. Already available in Brazil, the company has plans to expand in 43 other Latin American countries and eventually the Caribbean.

The company which provides its members with thousands of movies and television shows will only provide streaming services for their Latin American customers unlike in the United States where DVD delivery service is also available. The service will cost $7.99 a month, with unlimited streaming of movies and television programs for this price. The expansion however, is not without its challenges as high speed internet is not readily available in many households in Costa Rica. Also competing for the movie space are pirated sales of products which can be easily purchased on the streets of Costa Rica.

The introduction of NETFLIX to Costa Rica is a clear indication that the Latin American market and Costa Rica specifically are looking for additional services and goods that would otherwise not be available. The world is getting smaller, and for Netflix, that’s one movie at a time! Get out the popcorn and get comfortable in your favorite chair… the show is about to begin!
