Miley Cyrus’s Leather and Sequins Costa Rica Bound

Miley Cyrus has put away any images that we have had of her as the awkward teenager in Hannah Montana and has replaced those images with an new image of sexy costumes as she performed in Rio on Friday, on her Gypsy Heart Tour which will land in Costa Rica on May 21, 2011.

Miley danced and sung her way on stage in an assortment of items made of leather, sequins and tight shorts showing a lot of bare skin. Miley’s image adjustment for this tour has received critical comments as it progresses from city to city as her costumes show a provocative side as she sported a low cut sequin studded black leather bra with what some observed to be short tight “spray on” leather shorts.  This look was an extension of the dominatrix look which first surfaced on her first stop on her tour, Quito, Ecuador.

Photos also surfaced of Miley and her mom and manager Tish prior to the concert on the beaches of Rio where they both sported their respective tattoos. Sunbathing in a grey metallic bikini, Miley went to Twitter to complain about the Brazilian paparazzi. She tweeted “loving Rio 2.HATING the paps, and added , “3. So not fair grown ass men can hide in the bushes and take pics of us girls in our bikinis!….”

Miley sparked controversy when at the age of 17, her mother who has her back covered with a pair of angel wings consented to her daughter getting her first tattoo, which happened to be below her left breast and read “Just Breathe” in honor of her friend who died from cystic fibrosis. Miley’s tour will take her to Venezuela, Colombia and then to San Jose, Costa Rica before she ventures to Panama and then her last stop in Mexico before she embarks to the Philippines and several concert dates across Australia. Noticeably absent have been dates in North America where the press has not be particularly favorable about her progression from the lovable Hannah Montana to young pop star.

Amidst the controversy it seems that Central America has not been as critical of  the new Miley. Costa Rica awaits her arrival on May 21st  to see what all the fuss is about!
