Located in Tamarindo, Witch’s Rock Surf Camp offers a variety of surf vacations for surfers of all levels. With a beachfront location and some of the best surf learning waves right outside their door, this Tamarindo, Costa Rica surf school will accommodate surfers at all levels.

Witch’s Rock Surf Camp (WRSC)  http://witchsrocksurfcamp.com has been in business for over 10 years, and recently celebrated its 60,000 lesson.  The school offers lessons as well as guided tours for all levels of surfers. The beginner course, with dedicated instructors and a ration of 4 guests to an instructor, enables beginners to learn how to enjoy the waves, converting many to life-long surfers, all on a spectacular beachfront property with a great atmosphere. The program for beginners includes 90 minute daily lessons as well a surf seminars. The program usually runs 7 days but additional days can be arranged.

The intermediate guided course is for surfer’s who want to get better. If you are having problems not landing airs or getting barrelled daily, this course offers coaching in and out of the water. The focus is to improve several aspects of surfing including wave selection, takeoff timing, duck diving, turns and carving as well as improving your style moves.

Locations will be visited by boat with deep water surfing. The idea is to surf head-high waves including hollow and barrelling waves. Coaches in this intermediate guided course will evaluate skill levels on the first day. The requirement for this course is the ability to paddle at lease a half a mile out through heavy surf and then climb in and out of an open boat after several hours of surfing. Simple turns as well as take-off left, right and down the line are also skills that are required to enrol in this course.

The advanced guided tours takes you to some of the best waves in Tamarindo. With the wind blowing and temperatures averaging in the 80′s, there are an abundant of waves that will challenge, charge and conquer surfers in this skill category.

Spots to surf are determined by the guides who have lived and breathed these waves, known the wind patterns and swell directions. Surf spots will include Tamarindo Beach, Playa Grande, Avellanas and of course Witch’s Rock, with strong offshore winds for big barrels.

In addition to offering some of the best instruction both in and out of the water, the school’s accommodations are right on the beach, making it the closest accommodations to those surfing waves.  There are a variety of rooms to suit every budget and include breakfast, WiFi, private bathrooms with showers.
