The controversy quickly spread to Facebook where a group called ”We Don’t Want Shakira in the National Stadium” was created and grew to about 5,000 members. Interestingly enough, not one single Costa Rican artist was suggested, concluding that the group wanted someone with a higher profile but it didn’t matter if they had nothing to do with Costa Rica or were not of Latin or Hispanic origin.
