Alert for Costa Rica Coasts

Costa Rica green alert

The Comision Nacional de Emergencias (CNE) has issued a green alert for high waves on the coasts of Costa Rica. This warning comes after the celestial event known as the super moon will occur at its peak on Saturday March 19, 2011. The super moon is a result of the moon and earth being at its closest points known as a perigee and in this case, the moon will also be full, creating an extreme super moon experience.

The alert has been issued as a result of the change in gravity of the earth which will affect the tides. With the pressure of the full moon on the earth, the follow of  bodies of water such as the oceans will change, resulting in high waves.  The moon is scheduled to be at its closest and brightest on Saturday evening and it should not be a site that can be missed. Super moons with a full moon as well are not common so this lunar event will not be witnessed for a long time. For more information, visit http://www.insidecostarica.com/
